Forgot your Sentry safe password? Or is your Sentry safe battery drained and the keypad won’t respond? Many people know that a Sentry safe has an emergency key behind the number pad. But what if that key is locked inside the safe?
Sentry safe could not open – and your passport is inside
Imagine this: you have a flight tomorrow and your passport is inside the safe. The code doesn’t work, and the emergency key is locked in the safe too. In panic, many people grab the nearest tools and break the number pad, or take a big hammer and hit the handle.
Never do this
- Don’t break the number pad with tools.
- Don’t hit the handle with a hammer.
- Don’t drill or cut the safe yourself.
If you do, you may not be able to use your safe again. Worse, a job that a professional locksmith could finish in about 1 minute can then take hours. You lose time, and the cost of opening the safe goes up too.
